{New Blog Post} The Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transport System: My first public bus ride in Johannesburg..

One of the most frustrating things about living in Johannesburg is the lack of public transport in this city. The residents are forced to have their own private vehicles because there are so few alternatives to getting around and about. The safer cab companies are expensive while the train network is very limited. There’s an impressive bus network which only extends between the inner city and the Southern parts of Johannesburg. It’s called the Rea Vaya and we see the bus stops scattered all over the inner city when we walk about or drive through it. The bus stops looked mighty impressive in the middle of the roads. They were clean and well looked after. I went on a short ride in the inner city to experience the local transportation and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. People at the bus stops and ticket counters were helpful. And the network was easy to understa...
