Hey Cheesie, Read your post as am heading to Korea again soon. I can totally relate to your story, except I had the experience in another country with Koreans travelers. The Korea travelers seemed rather stoic but they were the most chinchai, generous people I’ve met. The guys paid for my meals as well the 2 other Korean travelers with them, to public transport, one offered & drove me around on the motorcyle to see the places I haven’t been to (as usual, nothing in return wanted) & I & other girls didn’t have to pay when we went together to their all time fav place anywhere in the world, noraebang i.e. karaoke. These people were not traveling together, all were solo travelers but when it came to paying the guys would split the bill unequally (totally chinchai) & girls were never asked to pay, when I offered they just declined & moved on to the next topic.
