Responding to Newsweek’s article on the Bible…

Here’s the original article by Kurt Eichenwald , which you should definitely read in its entirety before criticizing . I wrote a post for CNN responding to what I believe were the article’s sweeping generalizations and hyperbolic caricatures of evangelicals . This post by Daniel Wallace does a good job looking at some of the textual issues at hand, but I also appreciate what Pete Enns says in his response, where he argues that Eichenwald’s piece was “naïve, over-the-top and basically right.” Gives us lots to think about! What did you think of the Newsweek piece? (Note: If you didn’t bother to read it, please don’t bother commenting! That’s a huge pet peeve of mine, having encountered multiple reviews of my own books written by people who admit they didn't even read them first.)
